The BIM is today's common ground for the digital creation and exchange of information in the AEC industry (Architecture, Engineering and Construction). The technology is now evolving towards a more web-centric and distributed approach with the concept of « platform » as a new reference. This new trend is quite challenging for the academic world because of its very specific, complex and often evolving nature. AEC Open Platforms seeks to address these challenges through the constitution of a dedicated European network of researchers and academics in relation with the expertise of construction and software professionals.
